Day 30/365: Trying Out Something New

Day 30

So I thought I'd try some of the new stuff I got from Kali's...ended up only trying this one Essie color (I'll name later when I figure it out), and it was not coming opaque to save its life after 4 coats, so I ended up putting China Glaze Octa-Gone Wild on top top give it something extra.

Day29/365: Gnome-ing Around

Day 29

Again, I found this at my friend's house when I was over for a barbecue. So funny, I just saw him out of the corner of my eye...

Day 28/365: More Flowers

Day 28

I think these are puakenikeni? Anyway it smells like it, and I saw it in my friend's yard. It's really pretty and smells pretty too. My mom likes these for making lei because they smell so good :)

Day 27/365: Obsession Takes Over and Prices Go Away

Day 27

So I saw on Twitter and Facebook that Kali put more polishes into the $2 box at their store. Can I say that I have the biggest love-hate relationship with that damn box? GOSH...so I went over, and there weren't a whole ton left, variety wise, but there were some that I had to get. I ended up getting about 20 :S I felt so bad, but such a savy shopper. Here's some that I got...you can read my blog post about more that I got at a sale at Kali's too :)

Day 26/365: Thanks Customers

Day 26

I made this sign to help those who don't know how to stand in between the windows. Anyway, this sign receives daily abuse from people who need an armrest, to stupid people, to stupid people who have kids that do stupid things. Today, I found the dang thing like this! I mean, we try to help people out, but if they're gonna treat our help like this, why should we help them?

Day 25/365: Happy Easter Monday

Day 25

So I got the eggs that I helped dye, and this is my favorite (sorry earth egg). I learned that with the use of rubber bands you can get this tye-dye ish effect with the eggs. Really cool!!

Day 24/365: Buster, My Fury Cousin

Day 24

This is Buster, my aunty's labrador-retriever mix. He's a huge rascal, with emphasis on the huge part. He wouldn't sit still and gaze into the dang camera...whatever!

Saturday, April 23, 2011

Day 23/365: Bee Day Celebration

Day 23

So we celebrated one of our Okinawan dance friend's 21st birthday. We decked out one of Toma's rooms with tons of Hello Kitty stuff that totally broke the bank :( Anyway, it was a fun celebration, mostly everyone sang, and we all had a great time! I also helped some young ones discover my favorite wine ;)

Day 22/365: Happy Earth Day

Day 22

To celebrate Earth Day, I have for you an earth like colored egg. It was Good Friday, and I dyed eggs with my little friend, and actually had to work on a school project too :P

Day 21/365: DESSERT

Day 21

Align CenterSo this was dessert. YESSSSS: the FIVE of us shared ONE piece of cake. We're young and poor...what did you think?

Day 20/365: FOOOD

Day 20

So I actually took this on the 21st, but I will say that I am so busy that I can cheat :P Anyway, this was my dinner at the Alley. We originally went so we could bowl for free, so we went early to put our name down and ate while we waited, then left because they didn't call our name soon enough :/ Oh well...maybe another Thursday.

For those wondering: it's a mixed plate with spicy shrimp and boneless kalbi :D really gooooood!!!

Day 19/365: Photography FAIL

Day 19

So I wanted to show off a couple of freebies I got at Sephora, and Stupid me for trying to take the dang picture at like 5:00 in the morning :/ AND I was using the viewfinder instead of the screen, so I only was using one eye, too early in the morning, so I really couldn't tell it was out of focus, but I decided to use it because it was actually the only picture I took this day, and I thought it was nice to see some flubs in my photography :)

Oh, but to talk a little about the two freebies. On the left is the Too Faced Primed and Poreless Primer. On the right is the First Aid Beauty (FAB) Facial Radiance Pads. The primer is so so...I'm not the biggest fan of face primers, but thought I'd just try it to try it. The pads: I don't know about them yet. There's only seven pads, so I only used like two so far, and I can't really see what they're really supposed to do for me. BUT it has glycolic acid which is supposed to be good for acne. We'll see.

Day 18/365: Double Your Pleasure

Day 18

Well...this isn't very new or anything, but I never really showed this thing off. It's actually a nose ring...22G and I think 1/2, or 3/8 of an inch in diameter. It's good so I don't have to worry about getting my earrings all messed up from going in the shower with it and messing those up. AND: I only need one ring for two piercings :) It's pretty easy to put on...I did it in the dark, lying down!

Day 13/365: First Bloom

Day 13

So these are some of my grandma's first gardenias of the year. I noticed it when we arrived at her house. My grandma used to make me take these things to school and give them to my teachers (in elementary school). At first I didn't really think much about it, and then I realized she made me into a suck up :P Haha...hopefully another good season is to come!

Day 17/365: An Unexpected Surprise

Day 17

I finally got my Zoya order in the mail. It took a while, but I'm assuming because many people took advantage of the special they were holding on their site. If you bought their new summer collection, you culd get those colors buy one get one free, so it was a lovely deal. I think the deal was also $2 shipping, so I also got a cuticle balm, which was $2 less than what Kali's sells for...sorry Kali. But with my order, I got this color display for the collection. It was cool, now if I want to buy more at Kali's then at least I know what I'm in for :) It was nice of Zoya to include this, and I am very happy with the colors I did choose.

Day 16/365: Celebrating a Milestone

Day 16

So grandma is now 88! It's a special birthday for the Japanese because the character for rice consists of the strokes needed to write 88, and rice symbolizes good luck and more importantly good fortune. My grandma is actually a twin and since they both have made it to this point in life, we thought we'd throw them a surprise party :) Both were surprised and happy with being able to be with their families. It was a nice party, except for when my grandma started singing :( it wasn't pretty.

Day 15/365: Meeting in Different Places

Day 15

So as we went out for some bday celebrations...I realized I forgot to take my picture for the day :/ Too busy happy houring I guess :P

So these are all chiikas I work with now, and it's really funny that we all originally met in different places. One from high school, one from college, and one I actually met at work. Funny how things play out :)

Day 14/365: My Furry Cousins

Day 14

This guy with his nose up in your face is Buster. The golden retriever in the back is Kimi. They are my aunty's dogs...also known to us as our fury cousins. For those who have known me for a while, you know that my only human cousin is actually four-years-old. She'll be five in July, but if you think about it, that's left us for many many years without actual cousins, so when I was in intermediate school, my aunty got Kimi, and so we have treated her like she was an actual cousin, and Buster came into the picture and we treat him the same.

FYI: this is my camera's fish-eye effect ;)

Day 12/365: Honolulu STATE???

Day 12

Well...Hawaii Five-0 is at it again. Parked all their vehicles in the lot in front our office. The infamous Camaro, Silverado, and....yessss and ambulance! Just for those of you asking what makes it different from the real one...look carefully: it says Honolulu STATE Emergency Services. Honolulu is NOT a state!!!

Day 11/365: Who Let the Dog Out??

Day 11

Or, should I say: Who kept the dog in the car??? Haha...thought this one was funny. It kinda surprised me to see such a big dog peaking its head outta such a small car. It amused me at the red light, and gave me the picture!

Promise...a day late (and a buck short?) but I took this picture yesterday!!

Day 10/365: Nails!!!

Day 10

A day late...all around: capture and upload! Hah!! This has been really challenging for me to keep up with, and I will warn you: it will continue to be until this semester ends! However, I do like doing this project because it gives me something fun to do everyday. Maybe today, or sometime soon, I will take a picture at night, or in a different light setting, so that I can vary it up!

Anyway, I did my nails, I think it was Friday night (didn't cut them...don't worry). I wanted to use that plum-ish color I had been wearing all week (and was getting tired of the monochromatic -ness of it all), so I did a gradation type design. Real easy...used a cosmetic sponge (a real crappy one at that) to do the color, and used my favorite nail glitter...China Glaze Nova to make it look better. Oh, and the color is China Glaze Sugar Plums from the Holiday 2010 collection.

Day 9/365: Another Flower

Day 9

I actually took this picture a couple of days ago. Someone gave this to my grandma. It was so pretty that I just had to take a picture of it :) It's an African daisy...a Gerber? I think that's what she said. I don't like many red things, but this is just too pretty it overrides the red-ness :)

Saturday, April 9, 2011

Day 8/365: Grossness :(

Day 8

Ew...so yeah...I've been dealing with this dang thing for almost a week now :( It's not just one pimple...it's like five in one!!! I think I'm so bothered by it that the stress keeps the thing on my face!!

Day 7/365: Pinwheels!!!

Dat 7

These pinwheels were hanging out in front of the state capitol. I like them because they're blue, hate em because they looked like someone didn't realize they had to go in the ground on Monday and at 11:30 Sunday night they threw em into the ground :/ Anyway, these pinwheels are for children...I want to say like child abuse prevention, or something like that...I probably shoulda figured that part out before I go posting this, but I'm tired, and I wanted to get this up NOW!

Thursday, April 7, 2011

Day 6/365: Late, But Environmental :D

Day 6

Hah...so found this in the capitol basement. Seems they can afford this but they can't afford to pay for their own employees...go figure!

I know this is late, but at least I took the picture yesterday right?

Wednesday, April 6, 2011

Day 5/365: Eye Can See You!!

Day 5

Hah!! Well, I was trying to think of what to post today, but then I got lazy, then I had to finish up some stuff for a presentation I have to make tomorrow, then I realized it was 10:00 and I didn't post my picture for today :/

Anyway...showing off my new eyeliner: Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Pencil in Binge + my blue mascara :) thought it was a neat combo. Oh...the mascara is the Maybelline Great Lash in Royal Blue :) I like how it's not too blue. I also have the Urban Decay Big Fatty Mascara in Flipside, which is supposed to be brighter according to TiffanyD. I got that on HauteLook. LOVE that site...it has such good deals the only two slightly bad downsides: there's no free shipping (although it is flat rate...from what I can tell) and the other is that it takes a while to get to you...or I should say it takes a while to get to me, which living in Hawaii doesn't say a whole lot. The delayed shipping is probably because it is a flat rate deal...who knows! If you're lucky and they have a ton of good sales going on at the same time it ends up being worth it You should check it out...I made a ton of good purchases on that site! Anyway...I like this dark blue eye makeup thing...not too out there, but at the same time it's not your typical browns and black :)

Day 4/365: Slightly Creepy??

Day 4

SO today Hawaii Five-O was filming right outside the office. Aaannnd, they brought pretty much their whole fleet of automobiles. Here's a picture of the faux blue and whites...the actual HPD uses either the Camry or some Ford car...this guy is a Chevy...

Also parked in front the office was Dann-o's Camaro and McGarrett's Silverado :)

Everytime they are shooting outside the office, I always try to get a peak to see if I can see anything good! Once saw Daniel Dae Kim in some fancy looking clothes :)

Day 3/365: An Obsession

Day 3

So here it is: my nail polish collection. Not as much as some of those beauty gurus and so forth, but non the less, a bit crazy. I got this container from Longs (the Hawaii CVS) about a couple of months ago and it was maybe half full, maybe a little more, but it feels like I have the need to want to fill it up so I keep buying more and more :S Anyway, it's not really organized...I'd probably mess that up. It contains mostly China Glaze...probably because it's so much cheaper than the other high-end brands, but also includes my OPI, Sephora by OPI, Esse, Zoya, and a NYX one too :)

Day 2/365: Something More My Style

Day 2

So, I LOVE to take pictures of plants for some reason. I wouldn't consider myself a nature enthusiast or anything, I just like looking at plant pictures. This is a desert rose. My grandma used to buy these things all the time. She likes them so much because you don't need to water it too much (hence the name). I think it's a really nice flower, and the color is so pretty!

This picture was taken without using vivid color mode, and without using photoshop...it's a raw image, and I think it's beautiful...could be talent too: talent of the camera...it's so AWESOME!!!

Day 1/365: Yes...I Went There!

Day 1

Not really an artistic, or a typical picture people would want to post, but non the less, here it is, my first picture!!

Just wanted to tell you all about how crappy this toilet paper is (no pun intended). I swear, this is like not even 1-ply...it's 1/2-ply!!! Anyways, beware of this stuff!!!
