Day 39/365: More Gardenias

Day 39

I was excited to see a whole lot of flowers in my grandma's gardenia bush today. So pretty. It brings me back to them elementary school days ;) Anyway, today, it had all these drops of water...artistic feel!

I used flash for this picture...brings out the colors better! Slowly learning the photography thing...actually I was supposed to learn it back when I took photography in high school!

Day 13/365: First Bloom

Day 13

So these are some of my grandma's first gardenias of the year. I noticed it when we arrived at her house. My grandma used to make me take these things to school and give them to my teachers (in elementary school). At first I didn't really think much about it, and then I realized she made me into a suck up :P Haha...hopefully another good season is to come!

Day 16/365: Celebrating a Milestone

Day 16

So grandma is now 88! It's a special birthday for the Japanese because the character for rice consists of the strokes needed to write 88, and rice symbolizes good luck and more importantly good fortune. My grandma is actually a twin and since they both have made it to this point in life, we thought we'd throw them a surprise party :) Both were surprised and happy with being able to be with their families. It was a nice party, except for when my grandma started singing :( it wasn't pretty.

Day 9/365: Another Flower

Day 9

I actually took this picture a couple of days ago. Someone gave this to my grandma. It was so pretty that I just had to take a picture of it :) It's an African daisy...a Gerber? I think that's what she said. I don't like many red things, but this is just too pretty it overrides the red-ness :)

Day 2/365: Something More My Style

Day 2

So, I LOVE to take pictures of plants for some reason. I wouldn't consider myself a nature enthusiast or anything, I just like looking at plant pictures. This is a desert rose. My grandma used to buy these things all the time. She likes them so much because you don't need to water it too much (hence the name). I think it's a really nice flower, and the color is so pretty!

This picture was taken without using vivid color mode, and without using photoshop...it's a raw image, and I think it's beautiful...could be talent too: talent of the camera...it's so AWESOME!!!
